SSE's Innovation Evolution: StaffMatrix, EHRWN, and The Tech Wave in the 2000s

As the new millennium unfolded, SSE found itself at the forefront of rapid technological advancement, mirroring the global shift towards connectivity and innovation. From the dawn of social media to the rise of smartphones, the 2000s marked a period of unparalleled growth and transformation. Amidst the rapid pace of change, there was a sense of magic in the air – a feeling that anything was possible. SSE was ready to seize every opportunity that came our way. Join us as we journey back to the nostalgic days of the new millennium, reflecting on the milestones and memories that shaped SSE’s journey.

Team Expansions

As SSE continued to grow, we added key team members in the 2000s. In 2003, SSE welcomed Ann Richardson to its ranks. Ann’s dedication and expertise have been instrumental in shaping SSE’s success, and she currently serves as our Director of Staffing Services, bringing invaluable insights to our temporary staffing operations.

Evolving Locations and Consolidation:

Throughout the 2000s, SSE maintained a diverse footprint with locations in Beachwood, Mayfield Heights, Parma, Akron, Willoughby, and Downtown. In 2004, a strategic decision was made to centralize operations in Mayfield Heights, closing all other offices in 2005. This move streamlined efficiency and laid the groundwork for the company’s sustained success.

Technological Advancements and Changing Work Dynamics:

The 2000s drove a transformation in how work was conducted. SSE continued to leverage PC Windows computers, fax machines, printers, and landlines. The emergence of cell phones during this era marked a significant shift in communication. As technology evolved, SSE increasingly relied on the internet for recruiting, recognizing its efficiency in reaching a broader audience and connecting with top talent.

Services Portfolio Expansion:

In the 2000s, SSE expanded its services portfolio with the launch of StaffMatrix, our proprietary vendor management system, and Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO). StaffMatrix streamlined contingent labor management, offering clients enhanced visibility and efficiency. RPO provided clients the option to outsource recruitment processes, reducing time-to-fill and attracting top talent.

These additions complemented SSE’s existing suite of services, including temporary staffing, direct placement, online recruiting, payrolling, PC skill training and evaluation through JPC, HR consulting, and the innovative Career Board. Driven by a commitment to meeting evolving client needs, SSE remained at the forefront of the staffing industry by delivering value-added solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Launch of SSE’s Executive HR Women’s Network:

Founded in 2006 by Carmella Calta and SueAnn Naso of Staffing Solutions Enterprises, the Executive HR Women’s Network (EHRWN) was established to create a space for networking and professional development for women in executive HR leadership positions. Throughout the new millennium, EHRWN continued to grow and host events geared towards professional development, addressing relevant HR issues, and providing opportunities to network with other women in HR. This initiative continues to thrive today, showcasing SSE’s enduring commitment to building meaningful relationships.
