RECAP: Executive HR Women’s Network October Meeting

The October 6th meeting of the Executive HR Women's Network was a great success. Over 30 women from all different industries gathered for a morning networking event that was followed by an hour long presentation by Dr Kasia Hrecka, Ph.D, Founder of Nourish Up,  covering topics related to Women's Wellness and how to create a brighter, more energized workforce.  The ERC Training Center in Highland Heights provided the perfect venue for the occasion, and the light breakfast was provided by Food for Thought of Mentor OH.

"I really enjoyed my first Executive HR Womens' Network event," commented Jessie Perry, a newcomer to the group. "It was a great way to connect with female leaders in the Greater Cleveland area. In addition, as someone interested in health and wellness, our speaker reiterated the importance of workplace wellness in an engaging way."

Dr. Hrecka was able to successfully apply her background of Post-Doctoral work in Biology and Physiology with her passion for Functional Medicine, and present compelling information regarding the importance of sleep. Rather than providing suggestions on "best practices", Dr. Hrecka helped the audience dive deeper into understanding how the body works in general. The message was not "you should sleep more because it is good for you", rather "this is how the heart, the brain, the muscles, and other organs and systems react to sleep. Protect your body, it is your greatest asset."

The Executive HR Women's Network brings together a group of very different women who all share the common bond of Human Resources Management. From sole HR practitioners in industrial manufacturing fields, to Talent Acquisition Managers in publicly-traded companies, the range of experiences enriches the group.

If you are a Human Resources professional in the Greater Cleveland area and are interested in attending a future event, please email me to join the group!
