The 2010s were a transformative decade marked by technological advancements. As fashion trends shifted and artists like Beyoncé and Adele dominated the music scene, binge-worthy television shows and the rapid pulse of social media platforms further influenced the cultural landscape. This period set the stage for significant changes in technology, culture, and the way work was done here at SSE.
In 2015, SSE underwent a visual transformation by revamping its logo to a more simple and clean design marked by our traditional light and dark blue hues. In response to the changing digital landscape in this era, SSE also phased out Career Board and closed JPC Learning Centers, its computer skills training and evaluation centers. Services offered during this period included Temporary Staffing, Direct Placement, RPO/Project Recruiting, StaffMatrix, Applicant Tracking (myTalentLink), Payrolling, and Recruitment Marketing. The types of roles filled by SSE in the 2010s spanned across diverse sectors, including Accounting, Customer Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, Administration, Financial Services, Human Resources, IT, Sales, and Light Industrial.
The expansion of SSE’s service offerings and business growth during this decade aligned with our commitment to adaptability, and it also meant that we had to grow our team to keep up with the evolving needs of our clients. Several key team members joined the SSE family in the 2010s and have continued to contribute to our mission over the years. These individuals include Rachel Mack, current President (2013); Erin Satola, current Accounting Associate (2015); Judi Hrapko, current Accounting Associate (2016); Celia Stonko, current StaffMatrix Program Manager (2017); Abbie Riehl, current Senior Recruiter (2017); and Blake Babcock, current Vice President of Client Engagement (2019).
Throughout the 2010s, SSE operated out of one single office location in Mayfield Heights, prompting continued collaboration and relationship-building within the internal team.
The 2010s decade was a revolutionary era in recruiting driven by the influx of technological advancements. Tools like myTalentLink Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and LinkedIn Recruiter Seat reshaped the way work was done, offering recruiters more streamlined processes. The myTalentLink ATS centralized candidate management, simplifying hiring workflows, while LinkedIn Recruiter Seat provided a powerful platform for identifying and engaging top talent within the expansive LinkedIn network. These advancements not only accelerated the recruitment process but also elevated its quality, marking a shift towards a more strategic and data-driven approach in talent acquisition.
The 2010s also spurred the growth and expansion of SSE’s Executive HR Women’s Network. We focused on building and strengthening our core audience of women in executive HR leadership positions by hosting professional development events and networking opportunities, such as our popular summer social. This initiative has been instrumental in empowering women leaders and fostering a supportive community.
Throughout the 2010s, SSE continued its long-standing tradition of sponsoring the ERC’s NorthCoast 99 Awards. This partnership, which began over 25 years ago, underscores our commitment to recognizing and celebrating top workplaces in the region. Additionally, 2014 marked a significant milestone as we celebrated our 40th year in business, a testament to our enduring presence and impact in the local staffing industry.
For Staffing Solutions Enterprises (SSE), the 2010s decade was transformative, culminating in the pivotal moment when SueAnn Naso, our current CEO, purchased SSE from our founder, Carmella Calta, in 2019. This transition set the stage for SSE’s continued growth and evolution throughout the years to come.
Join us as we continue to explore SSE’s journey through the decades, celebrating 50 years of uniting top talent with great workplaces.
